What is vPOC?
vPOC is a proprietary methodology to bring private cloud services to corporations and government entities without complicated processes or expense.
vPOC stands for "Virtual Point of Compute" and consist of "virtual points of presence" or vPOP locations on the web. Each vCompute VPOC location has thousands of cores available for corporations for use.
vCompute vPOC segments have the specialized features you need to run your hyper scale applications, while providing flexibility with open standards.
These systems are high density hyper-scalable systems. Each vPOC segment is built with the latest in high performance computing technology utilizing Intel® based processors and Intel's Quick Path technology . The vPOC systems can support even the most complex applications as the architecture is specifically designed for High Performance Computing, WEB 2.0 and cloud builders.
The vPOC architecture is based on compute blocks where each block has 32 to 48 cores. The compute blocks build the vPOC segments allowing hyper scalability and very high efficiency. The VPOC segments are green compliant as the density of cores significantly reduces the footprint per segment and the new power efficient processors reduce power consumption.
Utilizing Intel's Quick path technology the performance is unmatched. The previous generation of processors used slower, parallel front-side-bus architectures. Intel QuickPath Technology accelerates the flow of data by introducing multiple pairs of high-speed serial links. By grouping several paths together with intelligent management, Intel® QuickPath Technology can deliver up to 25.6 GB/s between components and maintain communications even when a link fails.
The vPOC architecture and supporting systems are provisioned as secure private clouds utilizing encrypted secure client access methods to private IP allocations isolated from the public Internet. The infrastructure is not shared as each client receives an isolated segments of the vPOC infrastructure.
